Oxford University Press

This morning, our Oxford Through the Ages class went to the Oxford University Press for a tour. First, we sat down and listened to a guy tell us the history of the Press, and he illustrated his talk with a slide show of pictures. Then we toured the Press and saw a lot of famous works on display. We had to take notes the whole time for our class, which made it less enjoyable, but it was still really interesting. In one of the rooms was a Oxford English Dictionary computer....you could type in any word and it would give you the definition, along with the word in the context of sentences (just like any dictionary). We had fun typing in words like "bling" and "bootylicious" and seeing if they were in the Oxford English Dictionary, haha....they are :).

In the afternoon, I went to the open market and bought some fresh fruits, vegetables, olives, and nuts. Then, Lael and I went running! We are getting a good head start on our goals :).
